In a quicker turnaround this time, the G-Team prepared, worked hard, and delivered, then faced the judges and their opposition in the space of a week, and WON THE DAY AGAIN!!
Tá an rath leis an Droichead arís! Bhí Annmarie agus Seán in Áth Cliath maidin dé Domhnaigh, agus bhí orthu an obair a phlé leis no moltóirí agus lena gcéile cohmraic (opponents) ó Cunga. Mar a bhítear an seachtain seo caite, bhí obair deacair le déanamh ann arís ins an "face-off", agus mar a thárla an seachtain seo caite, bhí an bua ag Droichead Abhainn Uí gCearnaigh!
Anois tá trí ceantair fágtha ins an chomórtas anois, agus an dóthain obair le déanamh fós chun an duais mór a fháil!!
The €40,000 prize competition is now down to the last three - more work to be done yet!

After a long day, lots of phone calls and running about, the G-Team crew came through with an impressive result today, and just like G-Day, it's a win for the village whether it wins us through to the next stages or not. At 9 a.m. this morning (Fri. 16th) the foireann received instructions to build a website promoting the village. Like boy scouts, they were prepared to some degree, but it was a tough challenge, well met! Anyway, the result is www.sixmilebridgeasgaeilge.com, which went live at 7... Continue reading...

The nerves will have to stay frayed quite a bit longer, as the results event has been postponed by the production company until September 10th. The holiday season is typically a difficult time to get community groups together, so this is understandable - if a little frustrating. Ní bheidh na torthaí foilsithe ar feadh beagnach dhá mhí fós. Tá samhradh fada os ár gcomhair!
Coimeád súil ar an spás seo - Watch this space. Continue reading...

Well Done everyone! G-Day was everything we had hoped for and a lot more! Cinnte, it was helped by the sunniest day of the year so far, but what impressed most was the general willingness to speak Irish and enjoy it. The day went off without any serious hitches, with huge turnouts for the Farmers' Market and coffee morning in the Square, the historical walking tour, and Picnic na dTeidí, as well as for the Duck Races. Volunteers encouraged locals and visitors to use cúpla focal in whatever way... Continue reading...
